Introducing our new mini-tower based on the micro ATX case from SilverStone.

First try

BIOS Fan profils :

  • WC H50 Corsair pwm fan : silent 692 rpm
  • WC H50 Corsair pump :  70% 1118 rpm
  • TJ08-e 180mm Front fan : silent 921 rpm

CPU settings :

  • Idle load ( Linux KDE Desktop + Firefox )
  • Case opened
  • TJ08-E’s front fan switch[HIGH]
  • CPU Core i7-920 OC 1920-3210MHz @ 1053mV
  • FSB=160MHz ,
  • SpeedStep[ON],
  • HTT[ON],

Temperatures :

  • 4 Cores : 40° 38° 39° 38°C
  • IOH NB : 65°C @ 1172mV
  • ICH SB : 44°C @ 1119mV
  • MB Case : 35°C
  • HDD WD RE3 : 31°C
  • GPU GTX570 : 35°C @ 50MHz

Second try

  • Case closed
  • 180mm front fan switch setted to low @ 771 rpm
  • Idle load

Temperatures :

  • 4 Cores : 43° 41° 42° 41°C
  • IOH NB : 68°C
  • ICH SB : 48°C
  • MB Case : 34°C
  • HDD WD RE3 : 34°C
  • GPU GTX570 : 40°C

Third try

  • Case closed
  • 180mm fan @ low voltage
  • 10 minutes CPU load testing

Temperatures :

  • 4 Cores : 74° 74° 72° 73°C
  • CPU package : 69°C
  • IOH NB : 74°C
  • IOH SB : 48°C
  • MB Case : 35°C
  • HDD : 35°C
  • GPU : 44°C / 42°C (internal / external sensor)

MSI N570GTX TWIN FROZR II

The Cube WorkStation is upgraded with the NVIDIA GTX 570 GPU

Blender benchmark are still in progress in the wiki, however we can say that the GPU rendering is five times faster than using the Core i7-920 CPU overclocked @ 3.2 GHz .

With the fan profile set to silent, the H80 is particularly discreet.
